Black Ravens one-shot (pencilfish request)

Badger wandered about Misthallery's market, searching for his "boss", Crow. He was supposed to be down at the auction, but no one had seen the leader of the Black Ravens since this morning.
Rounding a corner, he finally spotted Crow. Just as he was about to call out to him, he noticed something that made one of his hidden eyes twitch in silent rage.
Crow was eating a hamburger. A hamburger, which is made from cows.
Now, it was a well-known fact among the Black Ravens, and anyone associated with Crow, that Crow was a partial-vegan. He didn't hate the eating of meat and animal products in general-It was only bird meat and eggs that he got worked up over. If Crow saw you eating a chicken sandwich or a deviled egg, you'd better duck and cover fast.
What many people didn't know was that Badger was also a vegan, but not a partial one like Crow. He hated the eating of any animal product, whether it was meat, eggs, fish, poultry, or even dairy products. Unlike Crow, who saw birds as his only animal brethren, Badger considered all animals to be his brethren. Seeing someone eat any sort of animal product made him sick. Unlike Crow, however, he did not complain. He instead suffered in silence, tormented with thoughts about the kind, innocent animal that had been killed for that meal.
Walking slowly over to his boss, he cleared his throat. "Crow."
"Yeah?" The leader of the Black Ravens said, looking over at him. "Oh. Hey, Badger. What's up?"
"You're supposed to be down at the auction," Badger said, his eyes locked on the burger.
Crow consulted his watch, frowning. "Dang it, already?! Thought my lunch break was longer… I'll head over there. Thanks for telling me, man."
"No problem," Badger responded, his attention still fixed on the burger.
Just as Crow started to head off, Badger found himself saying, "Oh, Crow?"
His leader turned back around. "Yeah?"
"You do realize some innocent cow was taken from its family and slaughtered to make that burger, right?" Badger said. "Possibly even leaving orphaned calves behind?"
Crow stared at him, his expression unreadable. "…Erm, never thought about that. Well, uh, see you around."
Crow headed back off again. Before Badger turned and headed his own way, however, he noticed his leader drop the unfinished burger in the nearest trashcan, a hand clenched over his stomach as if he was going to be ill.
Badger smiled. Perhaps now he wasn't the only completely-vegan member of the Black Ravens.
